A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Eric Pinellas Jr.,  the son of Osceola High School’s head football coach. Pinellas was found shot on Jan. 11 after a report of shots fired at Cypress Street and Bay Street. He died at the hospital.

22-year-old Jaquari Walker was arrested in Orange County on March 8 on a warrant for armed robbery in Kissimmee. During an interview with police in jail, Kissimmee detectives said Walker admitted to being involved in the shooting of 30-year-old Eric Pinellas Jr..

Pinellas’ family said Eric Pinellas Jr. was on his way to his grandmother’s house when he was shot.

Walker is currently in the Osceola County Jail facing homicide and additional weapons charges with no bond.
