Four hours after being booked into the Osceola County Jail on Thursday for accessory after the fact to murder and tampering with physical evidence, Wanda Rivera, mother of Chris Otera-Rivera, and wife of Angel Rivera, both charged with second degree murder and abuse of the body of St. Cloud mother Nicole Montalvo, posted $20,000.00 in bail making it possible for her to walk out of the jail.
The tragic case began with the disappearance of Montalvo after she had reportedly dropped off her 8-year-old son at Wanda and Angel Rivera’s home in St. Cloud. Her dismembered body was later found buried on the property owned by the Riveras.
The attorney of Otero-Rivera is attempting to keep some of the crime scene photos out of the site of the jurors, and is attempting to also move the trial outside of Osceola County, arguing that there has been too much media exposure of the case, according to court documents.
Prosecutors are requesting that the trial remain in Osceola County and that jury selection begins soon.
