Narcoossee Elementary has been certified and named as a Leader in Me Lighthouse School by FranklinCovey Education. This prestigious recognition is evidence of outstanding results in school and student outcomes by implementing the Leader in Me process with fidelity and excellence, which has had an extraordinary impact on staff, students, parents, and the greater community.

Scott Knoebel is the principal at Narcoossee Elementary, and Jennifer Albright is the assistant principal.

The Lighthouse Certification, achieved by only 300 schools in the world, is a highly-regarded standard set by FranklinCovey Education that empowers students with the leadership and life skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. Leader in Me helps students learn how to become self-reliant, take initiative, plan ahead, set and track goals, do their homework, prioritize their time, manage their emotions, be considerate of others, express their viewpoint persuasively, resolve conflicts, find creative solutions, value differences, and live a balanced life.

Narcoossee Elementary School will maintain its Lighthouse Certification the next two years, and will continue to foster its growth and proficiency in exemplifying a leadership culture and principles. At the end of the two years, Narcoossee Elementary School will be able to recertify its Lighthouse Certification through a virtual self-assessment by describing and celebrating its growth and accomplishments since its original Lighthouse designation.
