Carol Guthrie-Lewis, Math Teacher/Math Department Chairperson at Liberty High School, was suggested for the October Featured Teacher to the School District of Osceola County for her outstanding work in bringing together the math teachers to form a collaborative team. According to Liberty High’s Principal Gary Preisser the math department has many new teachers and she has gone above and beyond in supporting them and not making them feel “brand new”.

Carol Guthrie-Lewis is known at Liberty for having a great connection with her students and always offering assistance beyond the school day. One student recently commented that, “Mrs. Guthrie-Lewis is strict, but it is needed in order for us to learn math. She has been the best math teacher I have ever had.”

Mrs. Guthrie-Lewis is helping to move Liberty’s teachers and students from Good To Great and the school district is fortunate to have her as a part of the Charger Nation in Osceola County.
