Osceola Arts, who mission is to promote, cultivate and foster interest and participation in the arts, will finish the 2017-18 Theatre Season with Disney’s The Little Mermaid opening later this month. Beginning Friday, July 13th and running through Sunday, July 29th, the Osceola Arts Main Stage will transform into an “Under the Sea” oasis for this popular musical featuring hit songs like “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World”. This fun-filled show is the perfect family-friendly treat for the summer!

Based on the 1989 animated movie, the stage production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid follows Ariel on her journey to find something more above the sea and even gives up her voice to find true love. Osceola Arts audiences will recognize Ariel, played by Alyssa Hostetler, from previous performances in last season’s productions of The Drowsy Chaperone and Winter Wonderettes. Alyssa is joined by both familiar faces and newcomers to the OA stage as director J. Marie Bailey and her creative team have put together a talented cast of local actors for this production.

Tickets start at only $22 with Senior, student and group rates available. Showtimes for Disney’s The Little Mermaid are 7:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays, 2pm on Sundays, and an additional 2pm matinee performance on Saturday, July 28th.

Osceola Arts is pleased to also offer a brand new visual arts exhibit. SPLAT Art Group’s new exhibit, Under the Sea, will be on display from July 13th through August 10th in our Main Gallery. Students Pursuing Leadership in Arts and Technology (SPLAT) is a group of local creative youth living and making art and exhibits in public spaces in Osceola and throughout Central Florida. An Artists Reception will be held for the exhibit on Saturday, July 28th at 12 pm. All art exhibits are free and open to the public.
