It is a known fact that the travel and tourism industry contributes enormously to the nation’s economic prosperity and its image abroad to businesses and individual travelers.

With travel to and within the United States, these industries provide significant economic benefits for the nation, generating more than $2.5 trillion in economic output generated by domestic and international visitors and supports more than 15.7 million American jobs.

The largest industry in Osceola County is tourism generating more than $5 billion per year in economic impact and is responsible for approximately 45,000 jobs for local residents, ranging from entry level jobs to high-level management positions.

Osceola Board of County Commissioners proclaimed the week of May 5-11, 2019 to be known as National Travel and Tourism Week in Osceola County and presented a Proclamation to Experience Kissimmee and the Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association.

There is no surprise that Osceola County is the vacation home capital of the world, with more than 45,000 total accommodations host approximately 8.9 million overnight visitors each year.  In 2018, Osceola County, collected a record of $58 million in Tourist Development Tax, surpassing $40 million for five years in a row, now that’s absolutely, positively, remarkable!
