There will be another “Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway” event this Saturday, August 8th from 10am-12pm at 700 Union Street in Kissimmee. Commissioner Peggy Choudhry will supporting the event, which will give away free back-to-school backpacks and supplies to students in Osceola County, while supplies last.

Covid-19 has certainly changed many things, and specifically how our students will attend school this upcoming school year. What hasn’t changed is the importance of every student having the proper tools to use from the first day of school. In that, Osceola County is providing this drive-thru event. Social distancing and the use of face masks will be required.

This will ensure safety for our participants, sponsors, and volunteers as we follow state and federal CDC guidelines. Participants are encouraged to remain in their cars while volunteers place the backpacks in the vehicle’s trunk. Supplies will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis and child must be present to receive a backpack.
