Three Varsity Football teams in Osceola County will be seeing postseason play after the FHSAA announced their playoff brackets on Sunday.

The Harmony High School Longhorns, who play in District 7A-5 and were District Champs for the first time since 2007 will be playing Kathleen High School from Lakeland at home next Friday Nov. 9 at 7:30pm.

The #2 seed in 8A-Region 2 Osceola Kowboys, who are no stranger to postseason play, are once again District 8A-7 Champions and will take on Manatee High School at home next weekend.

The #8 seed Gateway Panthers will be playing in post season after being selected to play against 8A-Region 2 #1 seed Vero Beach in what will be at Vero Beach.

Unfortunately for Liberty High School, who finished the season 8-2 overall and 6-1 in district 7A-5 will not see postseason play as the point system that the FHSAA uses did not benefit them. That has to be frustrating for the Chargers given their extremely successfully season.

Congratulations to all the Varsity football teams from the Osceola County School District on an awesome season. Positively Osceola was able to cover an unprecedented amount of football action in the County, and next year, you’ll see our coverage on an even higher level.
