Osceola County Commissioner Grieb shared during Monday’s Commission meeting that she is working with the County to take steps to honor the victims and survivors of the Pulse tragedy with a tribute site that she says will offer solace and healing.

Many of those negatively impacted by the Pulse tragedy on June 12, 2016 call Osceola County home, including victims, survivors, and families, and have been part of an ongoing conversation where family members have indicated that a tribute close to home would be highly appreciated.

According to the commissioner, several sites have been considered for the location of this tribute, including Brownie Wise Park in Kissimmee, and that local artist Jefre’ will create a piece of art that will pay tribute to the 49 lives lost in the Pulse shooting.

“It is not a memorial,” Grieb said. “The memorial is for up in Orlando where the tragedy happened.”

There will be a public design reveal in the Osceola County Square near the county’s historic courthouse at 1:30pm on June 12.
