On Wednesday Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez, along with members of the VFW and the Sherif’s Office, paid a visit to a very important man in the BVL area – Mr. Gilberto Martinez, a 95-year-old WWII veteran who served in both the Army and the Navy. Originally from Purto Rico, and then from New York, Mr. Martinez relocated to Kissimmee in the early 80s and still lives there today!

After Mr. Martinez was presented with a certificate of thanks, Sheriff Lopez gave the WW II veteran two challenge coins – one from the Armed Forces and another from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

Positively Osceola would like to join the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office and the community in thanking Mr. Martinez for his service and his commitment to the United States of America.
