Osceola County School Board Member Julius Melendez will hold the first meeting of a Citizen Advisory Group For School Safety on Wednesday, February 10, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the Board Room at the District’s Administrative Complex, located at 817 Bill Beck Boulevard in Kissimmee. The purpose of the group is to provide suggestions on how to improve school safety to Mr. Melendez, who will then bring the input to the School Board for policy consideration.

Expected to be in attendance:

  • Osceola County School Board Member Julius Melendez
  • Members of Mr. Melendez’s Citizen Advisory Group for School Safety
  • Chief Jeffrey O’Dell, Kissimmee Police Department
  • School District staff

“Every one of our students deserves to attend school in a safe and nurturing environment,” said Osceola County School Board Member Julius Melendez. “I am thankful for the advisory group members who have volunteered their time, and I am looking forward to working with my fellow School Board Members in crafting meaningful policies and procedures that will bolster school safety.”

This meeting is not an official meeting of the School Board, and it will not be open for the general public to attend.
