Student and staff safety remains a top priority for the Osceola County School Board and during Tuesday evening’s meeting, the Osceola County School Board voted to continue having School Resource Officers in all its schools for the 2019-2020 school year to ensure safe learning environments.

The district will also continue to adhere to its long-standing policy of not allowing weapons on campus except by sworn law enforcement officers.

The School Board gave autonomy to charter governing boards to decide what is best when it comes to the safety and security of their individual schools.

The Osceola County School Board is incredibly thankful for the outstanding partnerships with the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners, the City of Kissimmee Mayor and Commissioners, the City of St. Cloud Mayor and Commissioners, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the Kissimmee Police Department, and the St. Cloud Police Department in keeping the students and school staff members safe throughout the school year.
