A man who was found dead in a swampy area near the Emerald Isle Resort in Kissimmee has been identified as the missing pastor from Eustis, Herman McClenton, according to the Osceola Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday, Osceola Deputies said that the remains located have been positively identified as 73-year-old Herman McClenton Sr., who went missing around Thanksgiving after he went for a walk alone. According to investigators, McClenton had dementia.

On Dec. 1, Osceola deputies found a body in a swampy area near the resort along State Road 429, about a mile from where the pastor was last seen. Clothing that matched what Pastor McClenton was wearing was  found near the body in the swamp.

The family of Mr. McClenton has been notified, and the Sheriff’s Office said it extended condolences to the family for their loss.
