About 10,500 people have been tested for coronavirus in Osceola County.
But, its population is around 375,000. So 2.75 percent, or about 1 in 36 people have been tested.
Those are all numbers that concerned County Commission Chair Viviana Janer enough to bring up at Monday’s County Commission meeting, with Gov. Ron DeSantis allowing fitness centers, libraries and museums to open this week and restaurants and retail locations to have a higher percentage of capacity in indoor spaces.
The number of tests is the lowest among Central Florida counties, and the percentage of positive tests (6 percent) is the highest, despite a 1 percent rate on a data surge of 1157 tests last weekend.
