A man died after being struck Wednesday morning by a pickup truck and an Osceola County Sheriff’s Office marked patrol car on State Road 417 in Orange County, shutting down the southbound lanes, according to FHP.

Florida Troopers said the man was in the Chevy’s direct path when he was hit.

Neither the driver of the pickup truck nor the deputy were taken to the hospital.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene but has not been identified at the time of this article.

Southbound lanes are closed at Orange Blossom Trail and are expected to be closed for several hours with traffic currently being diverted to Orange Blossom Trail where drivers can U-turn back onto SR-417.
