On Tuesday evening, June 18th, around  7:05 P.M., the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in Saint Cloud in reference to a sexual battery report. Deputies spoke with the victim, a 17-year-old girl who stated that Michael Lee Rhum, age 35  had sex with her while she was asleep at his residence on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Based on this information Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Sex Crimes detectives responded for further investigation.

Over the course of the investigation, the victim provided more information and evidence supporting the allegations. According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Rhum was located and arrested. Cooperating with the investigation, Rhum confessed post-Miranda to the allegations made against him resulting in his arrest.

Rhum was charged with two counts of Sexual Battery with a victim between the age of 12-17 years old and transported to the Osceola County Jail.

Rhum is a registered sex offender in Osceola County who was previously sentenced to prison on September 29, 2014, for 1 year and 10 months in reference to traveling to meet a minor. After completing his prison sentence, Rhum was released on April 18, 2016, with his first registration with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office on April 20, 2016.
