Hormel Foods Sales has issued a voluntary recall for two specific varieties of Planters nuts due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

This action, taken in collaboration with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), involves:

  • 4-ounce packages of Planters Honey Roasted Peanuts with a “Best If Used By” date of April 11, 2025, marked as 04 11 25 on the package, and a UPC of 2900002097.
  • 8.75-ounce cans of Planters Deluxe Lightly Salted Mixed Nuts with a “Best If Used By” date of April 5, 2026, displayed as 05APR26 on the can bottom, and a UPC of 2900001621.

These products were distributed across five states, specifically to Publix distribution centers in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina, as well as to Dollar Tree distribution centers in South Carolina and Georgia. Importantly, no other Planters sizes, varieties, or packaging configurations are included in this recall.
