A 46-year-old motorcyclist from Kissimmee tragically lost his life on Saturday in a late-night crash in Poinciana, according the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident took place around 10:30 p.m. on Pleasant Hill Road, just south of Harbor Road.

According to the FHP’s initial investigation, the motorcyclist was heading south on his Kawasaki Ninja on Pleasant Hill Rd. when he unexpectedly lost control, veered across the median into the opposite lanes, and collided with a signpost. His motorcycle continued into the northbound lanes, where it struck a 2016 Dodge Charger.

Despite wearing a helmet, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The 65-year-old driver of the Charger was unharmed and cooperated with authorities at the site.

The FHP is conducting a thorough investigation into the crash.
