KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Silver Spurs Club Big Boss Henry Thacker is ready to take the reins as Boots, Bulls and Barrels charges into the Silver Spurs Arena on Saturday, Oct. 3, for a high-energy night celebrating Osceola County’s rodeo traditions.
The one-night event begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature cowboys and cowgirls competing for cash prizes in bull riding, ranch bronc riding and barrel racing.
For Thacker, a seventh-generation Osceola County native, the event will be among the first major Silver Spurs productions held under his leadership as the club’s 2026–2027 Big Boss.
“It is an incredible honor to serve as Big Boss of the Silver Spurs Club,” Thacker said. “This organization has meant so much to my family and to Osceola County for generations.”
Thacker’s election continues a remarkable family legacy. He is the first Silver Spurs member whose mother and father, Clarence and Jo Thacker, both previously served as Big Boss. Before taking the organization’s top leadership position, he spent five years serving as Old Bossy, the club’s treasurer.
“Our club has always been rooted in family, tradition and service, and those values will continue to guide us,” Thacker said. “I look forward to working alongside our volunteers as we continue preserving our traditions, strengthening our impact in the community and ensuring the Silver Spurs Club remains strong for future generations.”
Henry and his wife, Melissa, are raising their sons, Jon and Murray, around the traditions of rodeo, volunteerism and community service. His sister, Celia Thacker Dorn, serves as an Osceola County judge in Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit.
As Big Boss, Thacker leads a volunteer organization with nearly 400 members committed to preserving Osceola County’s ranching and rodeo heritage while supporting scholarships, charitable giving and community events.
That Western spirit will be on full display at Boots, Bulls and Barrels, where bull riders and ranch bronc riders will attempt to stay aboard for eight seconds while barrel racers charge around the course in a race against the clock.
Tickets begin at $15 for children and $25 for adults and are available through the Silver Spurs Rodeo ticket website.

El evento comenzará a las 7:30 p.m. y contará con vaqueros y vaqueras compitiendo por premios en efectivo en monta de toros, monta de broncos estilo ranchero y carreras de barriles.
Para Thacker, nativo de séptima generación del Condado Osceola, será uno de los primeros eventos importantes de Silver Spurs celebrados bajo su liderazgo como Big Boss del club para 2026–2027.
