St. Cloud Council Member Keith Trace named as Vice Mayor

City Council member Keith Trace has been selected by his fellow Council members as Deputy Mayor for the coming year. The vote was made during Council’s Nov. 12 regular meeting.

The City’s Code of Ordinances specifies that the Council elects the Deputy Mayor from among all Council members. The Deputy Mayor is recognized as head of the city government for all ceremonial purposes and by the Governor for purposes of military law, but has no administrative duties. The Deputy Mayor acts as Mayor in the absence or disability of the Mayor.

Trace, who grew up in Osceola County, is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida. He was elected to St. Cloud City Council Seat #5 in 2018.

“I am honored to be voted on by my fellow Council members to serve the citizens of St. Cloud in this role,” Trace said.
