St. Cloud’s City Council has approved on first reading the entertainment district amendment allowing the use of outside alcohol consumption for the downtown. The amendment will also allow for the creation of an event permit to increase the concentration of amenities and entertainment venues within a pedestrian-friendly segment of the city’s Downtown.

Outdoor alcohol consumption is subject to the following regulations:
From Wednesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.;
Dispensed by a registered, with the city and state, alcoholic beverage establishment;
No more than 1 drink per valid ID for removal from premises;
On a clear 16 fl. oz. plastic cup containing the approved Entertainment District Logo

Outdoor dining & drinking options became much more popular amid the ongoing pandemic, with restaurants and drinking establishments looking for creative ways to do business.

The second and final reading is scheduled for Dec. 9th.
