ST. CLOUD, Fla. — One of St. Cloud’s most cherished holiday traditions is preparing to return for its 63rd year, and businesses, schools, organizations and community groups can now register to be part of the celebration.
The 63rd Annual St. Cloud Christmas Parade will once again bring decorated floats, marching bands, community organizations and plenty of Christmas spirit to downtown St. Cloud, continuing a tradition that has brought generations of families together for more than six decades.
The annual parade is hosted by the St. Cloud Greater Osceola Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of St. Cloud, presented by Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital and brought to the community by Experience Kissimmee.
Registration is now officially open for businesses, nonprofits, schools, clubs and other organizations interested in participating in this year’s parade. Participants are encouraged to begin planning their floats, marching units and other festive entries as St. Cloud prepares for another community-wide Christmas celebration.
Over its more than 60-year history, the St. Cloud Christmas Parade has become one of the community’s signature holiday events, bringing longtime residents and newcomers together in downtown St. Cloud as the city kicks off the Christmas season.
For many local families, the parade has become a tradition passed from one generation to the next. Parents who once stood along the parade route as children now return with children and grandchildren of their own, creating new memories around an event that has remained part of St. Cloud’s holiday season even as the community has grown dramatically.
Each year, downtown comes alive as decorated floats, marching bands, schools, local businesses, civic and nonprofit organizations and other community groups make their way along the parade route before crowds of spectators.
The celebration will also reach beyond downtown St. Cloud. The 63rd Annual St. Cloud Christmas Parade will be livestreamed on Positively Osceola and the St. Cloud Greater Osceola Chamber of Commerce’s social media channels, giving those who can’t attend in person an opportunity to enjoy one of St. Cloud’s favorite holiday traditions from wherever they are.
As another Christmas season approaches, the parade continues to provide a connection between St. Cloud’s past and present — bringing businesses, schools, organizations, neighbors and families together for a celebration that has endured for more than six decades.
After 62 years of Christmas memories, St. Cloud is getting ready to make a few more.
