Toho Water Authority is reminding its customers that, since 2017, Toho, in partnership with the Osceola Council on Aging (COA), has offered the Toho Assistance Program (TAP) to ease financial hardships for customers.

Both organizations understand that, at times, including the uncertain economic impacts related to the coronavirus (COVID-19), utility customers may experience temporary financial challenges. TAP helps make bills more manageable for those who qualify.

TAP funds are provided by Toho and managed by the COA, which is responsible for administering all funds contributed to the program.

TAP provides assistance for existing water bills for households with elderly or disabled individuals or families with children under 12 years of age.

“Toho appreciates our partnership with the COA that provides this worthwhile program to help customers in need with their water services,” added Toho Executive Director Todd Swingle. “Providing reliable, cost effective and responsive services to our customers is the core of our utility’s mission, and TAP allows us to further enhance our commitment to the community when it is most needed.”

To apply for the program, customers can call the COA at 407-846-8532 ext. 1265.

While service disconnections have been suspended until further notice due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Toho encourages customers who see themselves missing a payment and falling behind on bills to contact Customer Service at 407-944-5000 for assistance. You may be eligible for a payment extension request.
