Congratulations to Toho Water Authority for once again being awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
The award is the nation’s highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and is a significant accomplishment by Toho Water and its management.
“It’s a great honor to be recognized, year after year, for the Board’s commitment to financial stewardship that is accountable and their ongoing support of sound financial policies and practices,” said Rodney Henderson, Business Services Director, Toho Water Authority. “This report provides customers with valuable insights regarding the utility’s financial health, along with highlights and information on Toho Water Authority.”
Toho’s CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which include demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The 2019 award marks the 12th consecutive year that the utility has received the Certificate of Achievement.
GFOA advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources and practical research for more than 20,300+ members and the communities they serve.
