An 87-year-old man died Thursday morning in a house fire in St. Cloud. The cause of the fire, which is believed to be electrical, is still under investigation.
Fire crews responded shortly after 7:30 a.m. to a residence in the 1300 block of 4th Street. Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke coming from the home and were informed that a man was inside. They pulled the man from the residence and attempted lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the incident. There were no other injuries reported, and the Red Cross is assisting the occupants of the adjoining residence with temporary housing.
