As of 5am Saturday, Potential Tropical Cyclone One was bringing some light, welcome rain to Osceola County and surrounding areas throughout Central Florida, while South Florida has been experiencing heavy rains and local flooding to some areas.

The system was located about 65 miles north of the Dry Tortugas and about 100 miles southwest of Fort Myers, Florida. PTC 1 continues to move through the Gulf of Mexico with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph and has sped up overnight moving northeast at 18 mph.

Tropical storm warnings remain in place for Osceola, Polk, and Brevard counties,  with Central Florida expecting to see a few, gusty downpours continuing through Saturday evening  in some areas. Highs will be in the lower 80s with some moderate wind gusts taking place at times.

Sunday we’ll be back to normal pre-summer conditions with highs in the low 90s and 30% chance of rain in the afternoon.
