A 23-year-old man was killed Thursday morning after his car ran off the road south of St. Cloud and struck a tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash took place around 10:25am when the driver of a Honda Civic was headed west on Friars Cove Road near Deer Run Road and for some reason went off the road striking a tree, the FHP crash report shows.
The St. Cloud driver was traveling west on Friars Cove Road when he lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason, a crash report shows. The man was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to FHP.
Next of kin have been notified and the name of the driver has not been released.
The crash is under investigation.
