The old saying, every vote counts and every vote matters, has never been more true, and if you’re planning in voting in the upcoming Florida Primary Election, here are some things you need to keep in mind.

The deadline to register for the first time or to change your party affiliation for the August 23, 2022, Primary Election is today July 25, 2022. This deadline also applies to any voter who wishes to change their party affiliation for the upcoming 2022 Primary Election.

“Please remember that Florida is a Closed Primary State. Voters who wish to vote in a specific party’s primary must be registered under that party by July 25, 2022. I want to encourage voters to visit our website www.voteosceola.gov or call our office at 407.742.6000 to verify their voter status and/or party affiliation.” said Supervisor Arrington.

Florida law says that eligible individuals must be registered 29 days before an election in order to be eligible to vote in that election. Party affiliation changes must also be made 29 days before an election in order for the change to be effective for that election.
