On Thursday Facebook started adding labels to posts about voting from federal officials and candidates, and that includes U.S. presidential candidates.

This new label from Facebook is designed to send people to credible information about elections, and will be seen on posts regardless of whether they contain false information.

Currently, the labels will point to usa.gov/voting, an official government website with voting information. Posts specifically about voting by mail will point to usa.gov/absentee-voting.

Facebook has been accused of allowing too much political misinformation, including allowing politicians to spread falsehoods in ads, which are exempt from fact-checking on the largest social platform in the world.
