Gov. Ron DeSantis met with Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings on Saturday at a local Orlando hair salon and discussed wth salon owners the strategies they have in place, or are planning to have in place, in order to ensure that their customers will be satisfactorily protected from COVID-19 once they are allowed to reopen.
The hope of Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and the salon owners was that the governor would possibly change direction in his decision that salons and other personal services are not included in the state’s Phase One opening that starts on Monday.
The governor promised that he would bring the content of the discussion back to his team for consideration, but for now, there will be no change to the Phase One reopening decision that will keep salons and other personal services closed at this time.
