Kissimmee City Attorney Don Smallwood was awarded the Paul S. Bachman Attorney of the Year Award at a FMAA conference on Friday, July 28th by the Florida Municipal Attorneys Association (FMAA). The FMAA is an organization consisting of over 600 attorneys specializing in the legal representation of municipalities. |

The Award is presented annually to Florida’s most outstanding municipal attorney and considers the recipient’s contributions to the field of municipal law during the previous year, as well as their career contributions to date.

City of Kissimmee Attorney Smallwood joined the City of Kissimmee full-time in 1995 and serves as the chief legal advisor to the City Commission, City Advisory Boards, and City staff.

Deputy City Attorney Olga Sanchez de Fuentes has received the status of Board Certification Specialist in City, County & Local Government, achieving the highest level of evaluation offered by The Florida Bar in the designated area of law.

Only 7% of eligible Florida Bar members have earned Board certification which is The Florida Bar’s “Legal Expert” status. Deputy City Attorney Sanchez de Fuentes’ experience and competency were thoroughly evaluated before being issued a Board Certified Specialist designation.

Deputy City Attorney Olga Sanchez de Fuentes joined the City of Kissimmee in 2014 and assists the City Attorney on day-to-day legal services to the numerous City Departments and advisory boards.
