On Saturday, the Florida Municipal Electric Association hosted its highly anticipated 2024 Florida Lineman Competition in Jacksonville. This event, celebrated for showcasing the skills and expertise of electric utility workers, witnessed over 215 participants from 15 Florida utilities. Among the competitors, the Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) linemen distinguished themselves, securing significant victories in several categories.

In the Mutual Aid Event, KUA’s Ethan Shellabarger clinched the first place, demonstrating exceptional proficiency and teamwork. Close behind, Josue Sostre and Kyle Bezold showcased their expertise, earning second and third places, respectively. These wins highlighted the team’s comprehensive preparation and dedication to excellence in the field.

The Apprentice Events also saw KUA’s talent rise to the top, with Robert Rivera winning first place in the Written Test. Rivera’s achievement underscores the rigorous training and knowledge that KUA imparts to its apprentices, preparing them for success in their careers.
