One person is dead and four others were injured after a car crash took place on State Road 60 and Peavine Road Sunday in Osceola County.
The Florida Highway Patrol has reported that a GMC SUV, driven by Iraida Santana, 43, was traveling west on SR 60 around 2:30 p.m. when, for an unknown reason, the SUV veered to the right shoulder causing Santana to overcorrect, followed by the vehicle entering into traffic traveling eastbound.
Troopers said the SUV struck the front of a Ford pickup truck, driven by 57 year-old Hector Concepcion.
The FHP said two other vehicles became caught up in the crash. The drivers of those vehicles suffered minor injuries.
Troopers said Concepcion suffered serious injuries and was taken to Osceola Regional Hospital.
Santana suffered serious injuries and was also taken to Osceola Regional Hospital. Her passenger, only identified as a 69-year-old man, was killed in the crash.
The Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation.
