Osceola County’s role in another record day of new COVID-19 cases is this: 18 additional cases, no new deaths, and one more hospitalization.

Osceola now has 866 cases, 16th in the state. It was as high as 11th in April. Osceola County is 17th in the state in population.

Residents can get tested at the Mary Jane Arrington Aquatic Center from Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no cost or prerequisite for symptoms, but you must call for an appointment at 407-343-2000, and since the testing center is inside the building, wear a mask to the testing.

The county’s number of available hospital beds, according to the county’s COVID-19 dashboard, has stayed steadily between 245 and 270 for about a week. Another source has showed between 22 and 24 ICU stations available countywide.

The Florida Department of Health reported 2,783 more coronavirus cases overnight, pushing past a milestone to 80,109 statewide. And 55 deaths were reported to send that number to 2,993 and will probably reach 3,000 on Wednesday.
