On Thursday, Osceola County District 1 Commissioner Peggy Choudhry hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the Westside Technology Park in the Four Corners area. This 40-acre development represents a nearly $2 million investment in a project that combines recreation, education, and conservation to serve the growing community.
Located at the intersection of Westside Boulevard and Funie Steed Road, the park is nestled within the Florida Scrub habitat of the Lake Wales Ridge, a 100-mile stretch of ancient sand dunes. The ecosystem is home to unique plants and animals adapted to the dry, sandy environment, making it a critical area for preservation.
The County says they have prioritized Low Impact Design (LID) practices in the park’s development, ensuring minimal environmental impact while maintaining the natural beauty of the land.
Westside Technology Park will offer a variety of features designed to connect visitors with nature while incorporating modern, sustainable technology. These include:
- Nature Trails: Nearly one mile of walking trails with observation areas for wetlands and sinkholes.
- Smart Amenities: Solar-powered benches with charging ports and trail markers with QR codes for interactive learning.
- Educational Signage: Informative displays about the local wildlife and plant species.
- Convenience and Community Spaces: A parking lot, restroom building, and pavilions for gatherings.
Future enhancements will include a playground and a dog park, expanding the park’s appeal to families and pet owners.
“This is an exciting milestone for Osceola County and the Four Corners area,” said Commissioner Choudhry. “Westside Technology Park will be more than just a park—it will be a space where families can come together, learn about our unique natural environment, and enjoy the beauty of our region responsibly.”

El Condado de Osceola Inicia la Construcción de un Nuevo Parque Tecnológico en el Área de Four Corners
Hoy, la Comisionada del Distrito 1 del Condado de Osceola, Peggy Choudhry, celebró una ceremonia de inauguración para el tan esperado desarrollo del Westside Technology Park en el área de Four Corners. El parque, que abarcará 40 acres de hábitat natural designado, se está desarrollando con una inversión cercana a los 2 millones de dólares. El terreno, ubicado en la intersección de Westside Boulevard y Funie Steed Road, forma parte del único hábitat de Florida Scrub dentro de la cordillera Lake Wales Ridge de 100 millas. Las antiguas dunas de arena de esta área, una vez aisladas, han permitido que las plantas y los animales se adapten al entorno árido y arenoso, creando un ecosistema verdaderamente único.
