While Osceola County has seen only one double-digit daily total of COVID-19 cases since April 24, the fatality rate has nearly doubled in two weeks, from 8 to 15 with two more reported by the Florida Department of Health this morning.

The death reported in Monday’s report was an 80-year-old female who reportedly had contact with another positive case.

Osceola County now sits at 580 cases, an addition of six from Monday. Hospitalizations (145) continue to remain mostly flat, although the number of available hospital beds overall in the county has been under 300

The state of Florida added nearly 1,000 new cases and 44 deaths to its totals of 41,923 and 1,779 overnight.
