St. Cloud City Council approved unanimously during a regular meeting May 11 to change how the St. Cloud City Council meetings are conducted.

During an April 20 council workshop, council requested such amendment be brought forward to allow for more efficient agendas and meetings. The public will see several changes to the agenda format, including how the council considers and adopts ordinances, the warrant list being moved to a new Information and Report Section and providing for a Citizens Forum.

This Citizens Forum change was incorporated due to legislative statutes requiring public comment on every item requiring a final action. The final-action items are now all in one section to accommodate public comments accordingly. Other changes include the Consent Agenda section being moved to the top of the agenda to follow the Citizens Forum. V

Verbiage was also changed to reflect the City Clerk’s postings of the meeting agendas on the City’s website and having the City Clerk call the roll during each council meeting.

St. Cloud City Council regular meetings are normally held on the second and fourth Thursday of every month (unless otherwise announced) at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall. The full agenda is posted on the municipal website at www.stcloud.org the Thursday evening one week before each council meeting and it provides detailed information on all agenda items.

Meetings may be viewed live at City Hall Council Chambers, on SCTV 499 or online at www.stcloud.org. Council meetings and workshops are also posted in the Media Center web page and on SCTV 499 for later viewing.
