Lieutenant David Miller, dedicated member of the St. Cloud Fire Rescue Department, has been chosen to join the Florida Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 4. With nearly a decade of experience in the fire service, Miller’s selection marks a significant milestone for the department, as he becomes the first firefighter to join this esteemed task force.

Expressing his gratitude, Miller stated, “I am honored to have been chosen to serve on Florida Task Force 4. This is a great opportunity to use my skills and training to help those in need”.

Florida Task Force 4 is part of the larger network of FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Task Forces in the United States, comprising professionals from various emergency response backgrounds. These dedicated individuals, including firefighters, paramedics, engineers, and other emergency personnel, are specially trained to swiftly respond to natural disasters and other emergencies.

Miller’s involvement with FirePALS, a non-profit organization focused on fire safety education for school-aged children, highlights his deep commitment to the St. Cloud community. Now, as a member of Florida US&R TF4, he will have the opportunity to extend his compassion and expertise in disaster response across the state.

Recognizing Miller’s exceptional skills and experience, Fire Chief Jason Miller acknowledges him as a valuable asset to the department and expects him to excel in his new role. In July, Lieutenant David Miller will embark on his assignment with Florida Task Force 4, undergoing comprehensive training in various disciplines such as search and rescue, structural collapse, and hazardous materials response.
