The Florida Highway Patrol has officially entered the 2025 American Association of State Troopers “Best-Looking Cruiser” competition, aiming for its third consecutive win in the nationwide contest.
FHP’s entry features a striking photo of its newest cruiser—a sleek black and tan Corvette—set against the backdrop of a glowing Miami skyline at sunset. The vehicle, seized from a convicted drug trafficker during a joint FHP-DEA operation, now serves as a community outreach tool to promote traffic safety and the agency’s “Arrive Alive” initiative.
Voting for the contest opened June 30 at 10 a.m. EST and runs through July 11 at 12 p.m. EST. The state law enforcement agency with the most votes will be featured on the cover of the AAST’s 2026 calendar. Supporters can cast their vote online and help FHP maintain its winning streak.
“FHP is proud to once again take part in the AAST ‘Best-Looking Cruiser’ contest,” said Dave Kerner, Executive Director of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. “This year’s photo captures the beauty of a Miami sunset and the strength of Florida law enforcement through our newest cruiser—an asset gained through our efforts to remove criminals and drugs from our communities.”
The annual competition, hosted by the AAST—a national organization founded in 1989 by Florida State Troopers—raises awareness for the association and supports its charitable foundation. Proceeds from calendar sales benefit the families of fallen troopers, provide scholarships for troopers’ dependents, and offer disaster assistance to troopers impacted by natural events.
Colonel Gary Howze II of FHP praised the competition for its broader impact: “The ‘America’s Best-Looking Cruiser’ contest is a unique way to support law enforcement, promote public safety, and celebrate the spirit of collaboration across the country. Florida’s troopers are proud to represent the Sunshine State and invite the public to help us take home the title once again.”
