Kissimmee Utility Authority’s vice president of operations, Larry Mattern, has been recently elected secretary of the Florida Municipal Power Agency’s board of directors and All-Requirements Project executive committee.

FMPA’s All-Requirements Project provides the wholesale power needs of 13 Florida cities, including Kissimmee, Bushnell, Clewiston, Fort Meade, Fort Pierce, Green Cove Springs, Town of Havana, Jacksonville Beach, Key West, Leesburg, Newberry, Ocala and Starke.

Mattern has 37 years of experience working in power plant construction and operation, generation planning, environmental and reliability compliance, contract negotiations, budget planning and personnel management.

Back in 2007, Mattern was appointed as Kissimmee’s alternate to FMPA’s board of directors and then became a member of the board in 2014. He has served on the executive committee since 2011.

Positively Osceola would like to thank and congratulate Larry Mattern for making a Positive Difference as KUA’s vice president of operations, and for all that he will do as secretary of the FMPA’s board of directors and All-Requirements Project executive committee.
