Today, June 1, marks the official start of the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season, and Osceola County officials are urging residents to sign up for Alert Osceola—the county’s official emergency notification system designed to keep the community informed and safe during severe weather and emergencies.
With the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecasting an above-normal hurricane season—including up to 19 named storms and as many as 5 major hurricanes—Alert Osceola is one of the most effective tools to receive real-time updates on severe weather, evacuation notices, shelter openings, road closures, and other critical emergency alerts.
