Margarita Contreras, of Boca Raton Florida, was driving on Orange Blossom Trail, South of Osceola Expressway on Sunday morning when she was involved in a car crash with another vehicle. After both vehicles were moved off the road and into nearby parking lot Contreras believed she had dropped her wallet in the road, so she walked into the northbound lane and into the path of another car where she was struck and killed.

Witnesses reported to troopers that the driver of the vehicle that struck Contreras and did not stop. The vehicle was described as a tan or gold passenger vehicle that may have suffered damage to the front end of the car.

Contreras was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, troopers said.

The crash is still being investigated and charges are pending against the driver who fled.
